La langue, déterminant de l'état de santé et de la qualité des services

La collection La langue, déterminant de l’état de santé et de la qualité des services consiste en une série de rapports produits par le Bureau d’information et d’études en santé des populations sous la direction scientifique et la coordination de l’Institut national de santé publique du Québec. Il s’agit d’une initiative de transfert des connaissances visant à diffuser l’information sur l’état de santé et le bien-être des communautés linguistiques du Québec. 

Ces rapports, disponibles en français et en anglais, ont pour objectif principal de décrire l’ampleur des disparités de la santé et de ses déterminants dans les communautés francophones, anglophones et allophones du Québec. Certains rapports présentent également l’évolution temporelle et de l’analyse spatiale. D’autres abordent des enjeux relatifs à l’utilisation et l’accès aux services de santé par les minorités linguistiques.

Les travaux se basent sur différentes sources de données administratives, enquêtes et  recensements afin de couvrir un ensemble de thématiques et d’enjeux divers, dont la prématurité, la mortalité évitable, le profil socioéconomique des groupes linguistiques.

La collection s’adresse aux professionnels et aux décideurs du réseau de la santé; elle diffuse de l’information nécessaire à l’élaboration de politiques visant à réduire les inégalités de santé parmi les communautés linguistiques. Elle vise également les organismes communautaires qui œuvrent en faveur d’une offre adaptée de services aux communautés linguistiques.

This surveillance report examines changes from 1989–1992 to 2008–2010 in preterm and small-for-gestational-age birth rates in Québec for the general population and by mother’s first language. This report examines the avoidable mortality rates of Québec's two main linguistic groups, francophones and anglophones, over four periods: 1990−1994, 1995−1999, 2000−2004, and 2005−2007.
